We are delighted to be working with Rangeford Villages and to have successfully discharged a planning condition to produce a Travel Plan for their new Homewood Grove Retirement Village in Chertsey, Surrey.
This means that Rangeford Villages is one step closer to being able to start construction of their new development on part of the site of the St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey.
The original outline planning permission was granted by Runnymede Borough Council in 2019 to redevelop part of the St Peter’s Hospital site to provide houses and a retirement village.
Connect Consultants was appointed by C Squared Property Developments Ltd to produce a Transport Statement and assist with preparing a Reserved Matters Application for the 116-unit Homewood Grove Retirement Village, which was granted planning approval in 2020.
One of the planning conditions of the 2019 outline planning permission was that an up-to-date Residential Travel Plan must be submitted and approved by the Local Planning Authority before any development can take place.
Rangeford Villages, who bought the Homewood Grove site, retained Connect Consultants to produce the Travel Plan for Homewood Grove Retirement Village.
We combined elements of the wider St Peter’s Hospital Travel Plan and Public Transport Strategy with Rangeford’s own sustainable travel initiatives for residents and staff, aimed at reducing the number of car journeys.
Runnymede Borough Council and Surrey County Council Highways approved the Travel Plan, and the planning condition was formally discharged.
We look forward to seeing construction of the village commencing in 2022.
