Residential Development

Planning application: Residential development comprising seven houses

Local Planning Authority: Stoke on Trent City Council

Local Highway Authority: Stoke on Trent Highways

Outcome: Approved

We were appointed by the developer to provide highways and transport advice to support a planning application for a residential development on the site of a former pub in Stoke-on-Trent.

The proposals included the demolition of the existing pub and car park, and the construction of seven residential dwellings with parking, as well as a new access road and junction.

We worked collaboratively with architects Corstorphine & Wright to design a layout which maximises the developable space for houses and parking, whilst ensuring that the access and internal road are suitable and of high quality design.

Our Transport Planning team produced a Transport Statement outlining the development proposals, including car parking, the anticipated trip generation, and the non-car access to local services and facilities. Our Highway Design team advised on the access and road design, including visibility splays and swept path tracking.

Through dialogue with Stoke City Council’s Highways Officers during the planning consultation process, all access, transport and highway matters were resolved, the Highway Authority supported the proposal, and the development was granted planning permission by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
