Planning application: Construction of a 9.9MW solar farm.
Local Planning Authority: Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council.
Outcome: Approved.
We were instructed to support Windel Energy and Recurrent Energy with a planning application for a 9.9MW solar farm on 17.7 hectares of land near Llantrisant.
We supported the team, which included Sirius Planning, by advising on the access arrangements, producing a Transport Statement, and a Construction Traffic Management Plan which focussed on minimising the effects on this sensitive and beautiful environment.
Planning permission was granted by Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council, and following completion the solar farm will power over 2,600 homes per year, offsetting around 2,850 tonnes of CO2 a year. This equates to removing c.1,100 cars!
